Our Commitment
Torrance Residents United is a locally run advocacy group dedicated to putting the interests of our residents first. We believe in prioritizing our community's public safety, small businesses, and community input in all legislative decisions. Our focus is on empowering residents and ensuring their voices are heard in all matters affecting our city.
The Issues We Stand For:
Public Safety
Local businesses are the engine which keep our community thriving. In spite of the growing economic challenges, we seek to advocate on behalf of our community to ensure Torrance is the most business-friendly city in the State of California. This includes business retainment as well as expanding Torrance's international reach abroad through economic and athletic partnerships across Europe and East Asia.
Local Businesses
Public Safety is the utmost priority for any community. With increasing concerns about crime, homelessness, and retail theft across the State of California, we believe local government should take every precaution necessary to keep our residents safe. We support bolstering our city's anti-camping resources, along with modernization and adequate funding for Torrance Police Department.
Community Control
Following the recent Homekey+ Incident in which the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors attempted to place a homeless shelter at 3525 Torrance Blvd. without community input, we recognize more than ever the importance of putting our residents interests first. Local policy must be dictated by our families, friends, and neighbors - not Sacramento or Downtown L.A.
